Standing out in the cold New York air!
Well, I did it again. I attended the NBC live broadcast of The Today Show on Wednesday November 22nd and got my ugly mug on live network television for all to see. This was quite a unique experience as it was way too cold for me to handle, but like a trouper, I hung in there with the rest of them.
Of course, there was a reason to my madness. My favorite pop musical act, Daryl Hall & John Oates were performing live at Rockefeller Plaza to promote their latest album, Home For Christmas, so I made the trek to New York at 3 a.m. and scoped the area for an hour before deciding to park my car in a garage. It wasn't too bad waiting in line at first, but as the night progressed and moved towards daylight, it got colder and I had to suck it up. If it had rained or snowed, I would have had a gut check at that point and I think insanity would have won out and me catching the flu or pneumonia. I thank my lucky stars that didn't happen. If I wanted to check out Hall & Oates performing live in the cold, I was gonna do it, regardless of the weather. Extra layers of clothes and a pair of warm gloves helped out.
Songs they performed included "You Make My Dreams", "Sara Smile", "Say It Isn't So", "She's Gone", "Rich Girl" and "Home For Christmas".
Anyway, I hope you get to check out my photos at my photo album site as I'm really happy the way the shots came out and hope you get to enjoy them as well. In the meantime, here's one of those shots that I took from the front row.
